In the year of 2000 I was writing a paper on abortion for a class I was taking and a girl sitting next to me said I should just go and ask the doctor at the abortion clinic in Elizabethton. I was shocked. I had lived here my whole life and never knew we had an abortion clinic. I got to thinking about how many churches we have on every corner but, all these years we never had a crisis pregnancy to reach out as an alternative. I started asking what others thought about starting a crisis pregnancy center in Elizabethton. At that time I was working for the Elizabethton City Schools as the Extended School Program Director and thought I would continue to work for them, but God had other plans. I went to my pastor a few times and told him someone needed to get this started not realizing it was me. Well, before I knew it, we were having town meetings and looking for a building. We opened under the Bristol Crisis Pregnancy Center first until we could get support coming in. After the first year we could see we were heading forward in leaps and bounds. We then branched away from the Bristol CPC and paid back all the funds they had paid in advance for us. We out grew our first location on West G. Street and moved to 408 Cherokee Park Drive, Suite 1 & 2. Now here we are, 489 clients later in the year 2008, and it's awesome to see what God has done. I hope by reading this paper you too can share with me the wonderful blessings of God and pray about how you can help.
